SIRM

MBW's brother and wife are attepting to have a baby via IVF and have stumbled upon a new Doctor/Clinic after a poor experience with CAR.

The new clinic is the Sher Institutes for Reproductive Medicine and they are seeing *I think* Dr. Walid Saleh. In first going through their website, it looks like they are going to be gay/lesbian friendly based on reason five here.

Does anyone out there have experience with SIRM? If you had an experience, how was your patient experience, did you find it to be more or less expensive than other clinics, etc?

We have spoken with SIRM by phone. They were super nice and helpful. They even do a free phone consultation. They want you to send all your previous records before the consult, which made me feel better. Their prices are actually not all that different from most I have seen and they seem to have excellent success rates. If our current clinic does not work out, we are likely to use SIRM. They were quite open to using J's eggs as a donor for me/both of us.

How is this for irony?... Our nearby clinic finally gave us a firm price on using J's eggs for me... $20,000 (not kidding)! The estimate SIRM gave us was around $13,000. So now J and I have a telephone consult set up with the RE from St Louis on May 18. We are having our records sent to SIRM right now. :) Let me know how your contacts with them go and I will tell you about mine.
